Macedonia has adopted the new
country Resolution on Migration
Policy and its Action Plan for


The aim of the Resolution is to create institutional and other prerequisites for development of a
sustainable and comprehensive framework for managing regular and irregular external migration, in order
to promote the development of the country. It includes five strategic areas: Supporting framework;
Reliable and relevant data on external migration; Managing regular migration; Control and management
of irregular migration; and Building partnerships and international cooperation, and a number of strategic
The document also shows the relevant aspects of monitoring and evaluation of the progress in the
implementation of the migration policy measures and activities, its financing, informing the public about
the objectives and outcomes of the migration policy, as well as the possible challenges during its
implementation. In the Action Plan of the Migration Policy of the Republic of North Macedonia for the
period between 2021-2025, the measures and activities have been identified based on each of the
strategic areas, strategic objectives, and specific strategic objectives that should provide for efficient
management of the migration processes.
The Resolution on the Migration Policy of the Republic of North Macedonia 2021-2025 has been prepared
by the intra-governmental body for development and implementation of the Migration Policy of the
Republic of North Macedonia with the support of the Joint Program “Evidence-Based Migration Policy
Planning in the Republic of North Macedonia”, funded by the Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund and
jointly implemented by IOM, UNHCR and UNFPA, which aims at supporting the national institutions in
improving the management of the demographic and migration dynamics in the country.
Despite the fact that incorporation represents both an ideal and a goal, the attitude is generally well
accepted that the Republic of North Macedonia has started carrying out activities for the implementation
of efficient and sustainable integration policies and strategies, in the sense of responding to the needs of
certain target group. Though, it is necessary activating many other mechanisms to achieve the desired
levels of implementation or full, complete integration.
Lately , the authorities of North Macedonia also brought up an idea for importing labor force from the
oriental countries willing to work abroad , mostly from Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh.
Refugees and migrants often come from communities affected by war, conflict or economic crisis, with
vulnerabilities related to the condition of their journeys such as inadequate access to food and water,
sanitation and other basic services. They are at risk of communicable diseases, accidental injuries,
hypothermia, burns, unwanted pregnancy and delivery-related complications. Moreover, refugees and
migrants are at risk of poor mental health outcomes as well. Access to employment, basic services, social
but also psychological support can all help counter their stress and trauma.For children, access to
education is important, as are feelings of safety. Therefore strong parental mental health is of huge
importance protecting children from trauma, as does a stable family structure and social network.
In this area the NGO sector in North Macedonia is more effectively active providing free services and
organizing workshops.

La nostra missione è quella di rendere autonome le minoranze di fronte alle sfide che devono affrontare, sostenendoli con varie attività formali e non formali che consentano loro di diventare cittadini attivi e di influenzare le politiche di loro interesse. Operiamo attraverso i seguenti obiettivi:

  1. Far raggiungere a minoranze maggiori risultati in termini di istruzione e formazione.
  2. Rendere le minoranze cittadini attivi nel campo delle politiche che contribuiscono al benessere della comunità e della società;
  3.  Diminuzione del livello di disoccupazione delle minoranze;
  4. Organizzazione di attività di volontariato nella comunità locale e nei Paesi europei.
